Femi JR is a Nigerian-born Afro Hip-Hop artist whose music blends soulful rap, Afrobeats, and introspective storytelling. Raised in Ibadan and now based in Vancouver, his debut album Peace & Love explores inner calm, self-acceptance, faith, and growth—reflecting the emotional complexity of navigating life across cultures.

I was commissioned to art direct the visual identity for Peace & Love, alongside the single covers for LOVE ft Jasmine and OMASHE.

The goal was to create artwork that felt honest, reflective, and emotionally grounded—intentionally avoiding the aggressive or hyper-masculine tropes commonly associated with rap imagery.

The visual system centers on restraint, softness, and clarity. Classic serif typography was used to introduce a sense of calm and timelessness, positioning vulnerability and introspection as strengths rather than contrasts.
